Slow war
When at war 'slow' feels like the enemy, slow and boredom and quiet feel like states of attack. Silence is almost a slap in the face, what do you mean we will sit here in silence sharing space and not planning, plotting, ourpouring, shouting, raging, crying? Silence is powerful because it is unknown for those of us at war, silence feels like a whole new battle because peace is good. Right? Peace is the ultimate - we all want peace but peace equals danger when you are at war because the enemy of the mind starts scanning and reminding you that peace is not real, it is the state before the thing that will happen, that knock on the door to remind you that war is here again. And then war is there and less at war feels like a concept that cannot and will not exist for you. Less at war, does that mean I must sit and hold space for myself? With these thoughts, and I should learn to shut down the chattering brain except, it is protecting me, although I know it is not. Less at war, I can do this.
